PEPC: Tinubu’s Team’s Self-Indicting Watermark Claim Is Not Satisfactory – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) declared that it had reached the conclusion that the President’s legal team had yet to refute claims that there was more to the scandal than what it was willing to acknowledge after closely examining what it called “the scandalous inscription of the Header of Tinubu Presidential Legal Team (TPLT) on Certified True Copies (CTC) of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) judgment currently in circulation.”

The party’s national publicity secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, said this on Monday in Abuja.

He believes that the Tinubu Legal Team’s rash admission that it “scanned and watermarked” its copy of the decision with the inscription, “Tinubu Presidential Legal Team ‘TPLT'” is self-incriminating and backs up widespread allegations.

He stated, “The TPLT’s haste in acknowledging that it imprinted the judgment on the CTC smacks of a frantic attempt to deflect public scrutiny and fend off the likelihood of more discoveries regarding the problem.

“The Tinubu Legal Team’s assertions do not satisfy the PDP or, in fact, the majority of Nigerians.

Further investigation and expert analysis reveal that the documents are not scanned and that the TPLT inscriptions are not watermarks but rather computer default headers, which often come from an author of a document.

The PDP requests that the Tinubu Legal Team justify the use of a watermark for what is clearly a default header on its computer system.

“The Tinubu Legal Team should also reveal to Nigerians what precise time on Friday, September 8, 2023, they received their CTC; what precise time the document’s “watermark” was imprinted; the name of the electronic device used to create the “watermark”; and the PDF that was used in the aforementioned watermarking process in order to allow for an independent analysis.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) must be transparent about the situation, especially given the APC’s reputation for deception, according to the PDP.
