The British government opened a visa facility there to make it simpler for residents of the state and the South-East area to apply, and the Enugu State government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, commended the move. Read Full Article 

The praise was included in a statement that was released on Monday in Enugu by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

According to the statement, Gov. Peter Mbah requested the opening of the visa facility when Dr. Richard Montgomery, the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, visited Government House in Enugu in June.

The statement stressed how the visa center will strengthen the economic relations and cultural interactions between Enugu State and the UK and said that the government was thrilled and glad to learn about it.

The Enugu State Government anticipated a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with the UK since the visa center would help cement the partnership.

According to the statement, “the government calls on the people, especially those residing in the South-East, to take advantage of the opportunity provided to file their visa applications in the state.”

It was further claimed that the government would provide a higher level of security for both residents and visitors conducting business in the state.

The state’s open attitude toward investments and business was reiterated.
