In an earlier Bendelnews article, it was reported that police had detained Baruwa, the union’s general secretary Anthony Asogwa Chukudi, national trustee Olayi Odion, and principal assistant secretary Abdulrasak Yemi.

However, in a news conference on Wednesday in Abuja, Baruwa encouraged union members to follow the law and refrain from actions that would disturb the peace in their neighborhood.
He reminded state-level members that the union was working to find a solution to the issue and urged them to follow the law and conduct themselves regularly without any molestation.
He asserted that NURTW has upheld peace throughout the years and would not allow anything to jeopardize its track record of success.
Baruwa commended Comrade Joe Ajaero and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for moving swiftly to remedy the issue.

“We are advising all of our members to conduct themselves in a lawful, tranquil, and serene manner during their daily activities. We want to assure you that the problem is being addressed and will be fixed quickly.
He claimed to have regained his freedom and to no longer be in police custody. Baruwa cautioned NURTW members from saying things that could hurt the union or cause division.
As a result, he begged the state chairmen and members to put the interests of the union before their own and work together to advance.
