This is more heartbreaking because the OBO crooner had developed a strong personal bond with her before her untimely passing.
Jane, the mother figure to Wizkid, passed away in the early hours of Friday, August 18, 2023. Her death’s underlying causes and the circumstances surrounding it have not yet been revealed or made public.
A close friend of Wizkid’s informed a media outlet of the news of her passing.
Following Mrs. Balogun’s demise, Davido posted on his Instagram story to extend his sympathies.
He fervently begged for Wizkid to have the inner fortitude to bear the burden of this loss. He also said, in a philosophical way, that sadness inevitably fades with time, much like a passing bird.
Davido wrote, “Tagging Wizkid.”

Despite their perceived antagonism, Davido recently had a sweet contact with Wizkid’s mum that melted hearts online.
A tweeter earlier gushed over a photo of Davido and Wizkid’s mother together and tweeted it.
Davido shared the tweet and said that he had seen her this morning at the airport and had gone to assist her with her bags.
He continued by saying that everyone assumed Wizkid’s mother must be a “first class citizen” based on the manner he carried the suitcase through the airport.
Davido praised her as a remarkable woman and wished God’s blessings on her.
