On Monday night, a night sweep by the Nigerian Air Force’s Kaduna State Special Forces in the state’s Birnin Gwari region reportedly resulted in the release of seven abducted victims.

Following their recent victory over a huge number of bandits, Operation Hadarin Daji forces in Zamfara State released five victims who had been abducted in the Bungudu Local Government Area.

The kidnappers ran away and abandoned their victims when they observed NAF officers on patrol, according to Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF’s director of public relations and information.

Six females and one male were among the abductees, according to Gabkwet.

“The female victims admitted to being abducted from Paikoro in Niger State during questioning, while the lone male victim said he was taken against his will from Rijau in Niger State.

The army spokesperson claimed that the terrorists abandoned their victims when they saw the troops and ran into a nearby woodland.

The rescued victims were allegedly transferred to the NAF medical facility in Birnin Gwari and later discharged, with the exception of the male victim, “who is still being observed,” he claimed.

According to a soldier in Zamfara who talked to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity, the army reacted to a distress call last Sunday when the bandits were kidnapping commuters along the Tsafe-Gusau road.

According to phone conversations, the bandits had stopped the Tsafe-Gusau Road between the villages of Tazame and Tabbani in the Bungudu Local Government Area, the man added.

“We arrived to the location swiftly and engaged the robbers in a firefight, killing many of them in the process.

We drove the bandits from the area and left the captives they had abducted because of our superior firepower and tactical skills.
