In a statement released by his media office, Akpabio stated that Senator Barau’s peaceful manner and participation at the wedding witness to the fact that he is a man of the people. Akpabio spoke on Friday after the event in Kano.
He declared that the presence of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, and his supporters “tells you that Nigeria will remain united as one entity.”
In a ceremony performed by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Amir wed Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki, the daughter of Aliyu Sani Madaki, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
The occasion took place at the Isyaka Rabiu Juma’at Mosque in Goron Dutse, Kano State.
