A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Adetutu Owolabi has endorsed Edo North Senatorial District, Senator-elect Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole as the next Senate President of Nigeria.
In a statement, Adetutu said, the president of the Nigerian Senate is the presiding officer of the Senate of Nigeria, elected by its membership. The senate president is second in line of succession to the Nigerian presidency, after the Vice President of Nigeria and as such, its shouldn’t be gambled for anything or rather choose incompetent over competence whereas we all know that, Oshiomhole will do perfectly well in this position.
Without mincing words, it is my fervent belief that the Senate president should come from the South-South. Having thoughtfully considered several factors and the greater good for all, Oshiomhole should be considered as the next Senate President of the 10th Assembly, Adetutu added.
She recall that, during democracy restored in 1999 and the vast majority of Nigerian workers in need of an honest, capable leader to advance and protect their interests against the excesses and corruption of government, Adams Oshiomhole was a unanimous choice, emerging as the President of the Nigeria Labor Congress [NLC], a position that burnished his image as a man of the and the people’s comrade.
As a two times former Governor of Edo State, former National Chairman of the APC, even the infants will be happy that Oshiomhole becomes the Senate President of Nigeria because of his antecedents, they knew he’s a unique man the whole nation can be proud of. As a detribalised man, he’s loved my many and hate by none. He would be a good fixture in the President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Adams is a terrific mobilizer, a charismatic figure who speaks the language of the masses. President Olusegun Obasanjo has attested and expressed respect for the courage and personal integrity of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
While others are coming out for their selfish interest, Oshiomhole is coming out for the common man. Recall also that, during his campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has already told Nigerians how Tinubu’s administration will liberate the country from capsizing and sufferings and that, majority of Nigerians will feel the impacts of good governance, she added.
