Presidential Tribunal: Abure is present in court but Obi is absent

The LP’s troubled chairman, Julius Abure, claimed that he was filling in for the petitioner, Peter Obi, when the Tribunal’s chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani, asked for the introduction of petitioners and respondents at 9:34 a.m.
Kashim Shettima, the vice president, spoke first, and Abdullahi Ganduje, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, then.
The PUNCH reports that Justice Haruna Tsammani, the panel’s chairman, will deliver the judgment on Wednesday with assistance from other tribunal members of panel: Justices Moses Ugo, Abba Mohammed, Stephen Adah, and Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf.
The petitions, with the following filing numbers: CA/PEPC/03/2023, CA/PEPC/05/2023, and CA/PEPC/04/2023, were submitted to the court by the candidates for the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), respectively.
The results of the presidential election held on February 25 were published on March 1 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, with Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress coming out on top among the other 17 contenders.
In order to defeat the two leading candidates, Alhaji Atiku of the PDP came in second with a total of 6,984,520 votes and Mr. Obi of the LP came in third with a total of 6,101,533 votes, it was declared that Tinubu received a total of 8,794,726 votes.
Both Atiku and Obi petitioned the court to have the election results thrown out because they were unhappy with the results.
