Jibrin Barau, the deputy president of the senate, challenges Nigerian town planners on ICT

Senator Jibrin Barau, the Deputy President of the Senate, has urged the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC) to use information and communication technology (ICT) to advance the town-planning profession’s contribution to national development.
Senator Barau noted that town planners must embrace ICT to broaden the scope of their profession during his remarks on Thursday at the 36th induction ceremony of newly registered town planners in Abuja.
Idris Abiola Ajimobi, the Deputy President of the Senate’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, reaffirmed that ICT has arrived and will continue to advance all sectors of the economy and institutions across the nation.
He praised the newly admitted TOPREC members and tasked them with being good representatives of their field.
Isyaku Muktar Kura, the president of TOPREC, urged the new entrants to follow the TOPREC Act, code of conduct, and practise guidelines when performing their duties as town planners in his welcome message.
