Gov. Soludo Invites IPMAN Regarding N900 Million Debt Claims

The leadership of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has been invited by the Anambra Government to a meeting on the assertion of a debt of more than N900 million to suppliers of diesel. Read more….

Mr. TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, stated this in Awka on Thursday in response to the association’s letter of appeal.

IPMAN pleaded with Gov. Chukwuma Soludo in the letter to pay its members who served as contractors for the Anambra government for the diesel they supplied to power streetlight generators in March and April 2022.

According to IPMAN, the amount owing was N900,664,804.

Nwabunwanne told the media that the government had received the journalists’ complaint and would take all necessary action to protect the businesses.

He yet blamed the delay on contradictions in the contractors’ claims.

The commissioner announced that his office will consult with IPMAN, the organization that represents marketers, in order to reconcile the data for settlement.

“I have scheduled a meeting with the leadership of IPMAN for the beginning of next week to discuss. It is obvious that they are in the dark about our interactions with the contractors and that there are inconsistencies.

“The conference will therefore allow us to resolve these differences and go on to the following stage.

“The Gov. Chukwuma Soludo administration is a business friendly one and will do all that is possible to support and help them stay in business,” he stated.
