Model Gabriela Cavallin, the player’s ex-girlfriend, said that he raped her four times; two other women in Brazil, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have also made similar claims. He has said he did nothing wrong.
The 23-year-old Antony has been left off of Brazil’s national team roster for their matches against Bolivia and Peru. However, his team, United, has not yet taken any action.
On September 10, Cavallin told The Sun that the player who cost £85.5 million to acquire from Dutch club Ajax in September 2022 and who earns almost £150,000 per week must be fired.
“Antony must be removed from the field,” she commanded. It is regrettable that he is still permitted to play while an inquiry is taking place.
“This entire process has devastated me beyond belief.” How can he continue living his life normally?
As police investigations in Manchester and Sao Paulo continue, Antony gave a sad interview on Brazilian television on Friday in which he vehemently denied the accusations and vowed to vindicate his name.
After releasing a statement on Wednesday stating that it “acknowledges the allegations made against Antony” and “are taking this matter seriously,” United declined to comment on the situation on Thursday night.
Cavallin, 22, responded to United’s announcement by asking why the club delayed three months to make an official statement after she made the charges in Brazil in June.
“Why did it take United three months?” she continued. Just not acceptable.
