Consider Youths for Ward, LG, and State Congresses in Osun state, PDP New Generation calls out PDP NWC

The leadership of the PDP New Generation led by its Director General, Audu Mahmood, is calling on the National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party, to consider Youths for the position of the Ward, LG, and State Congresses in Osun state.

This is coming after the PDP announced the dates for the election of the congresses schedule for April 2023.

Mahmood stated that, the PDP New Generation in June 2022, constituted a Youth Gubernatorial Campaign Council of 180 young men and women, who worked assiduously to support and contribute to the victory of PDP in Osun State. It was a new initiative that spiced up the electioneering process, especially in the area of youth mobilization. The party needs fresh and new ideas to re-position itself for the future, and this can mostly be achieved by the new breeds.

The future belongs to the youths, therefore the time has come where the leaders of PDP must start considering the future of our great party by injecting young successors into the system, this will be a sort of rebranding the party for fresh ideas and positioning it as a youth friendly organization.

Nigerian youths are aggrieved because the younger generation especially the Millennials have been underrated and marginalized in politics and governance, we are tired of the same faces and the same names over and over. The PDP should consider our request for youth involvement in its fold, to ensure that the party remains on the right path of progress and prosperity.

The PDP New Generation, have started and will continue to mobilize credible youths in Osun state, to acquire forms and participate in the forthcoming congresses. We are therefore calling on the NWC to support and give us a chance, to be part of decision making process of our great party, he said.
