Vladimir Putin Breaks Silence Amid Wagner chief Assassination Rumour

Vladimir Putin has spoken out about the claimed death of Yevgeny Prigozhin in the plane accident, claiming that the Wagner chief had “made serious mistakes” before expressing purported “condolences” to the warlords’ family. Read full article
Since the deadly incident, which is believed to have killed ten individuals, including Wagner co-founder Dmitry Utkin, Russia has stayed silent.
The Russian president referenced Wagner’s botched takeover attempt in June in a scary television speech tonight, saying that Prigozhin “was a person with a complicated fate.”
The specific cause of the jet that crashed and caught fire yesterday afternoon is still unknown, but US officials now think a surface-to-air missile was to blame.
Insiders in Washington emphasised that the information was still preliminary and under evaluation because of the sensitivity of the subject. They spoke only on the condition of anonymity.
Their conclusion conflicts with those of other independent Russian media sources who claimed the explosion was probably brought on by a device.
There were no discernible rocket contrails or exhaust plumes at the scene of the incident, dispelling earlier allegations that the Embraer Legacy 600 jet was brought down by an air defence missile, according to many investigative outlets.
On August 22, 2023, razgruzka_vagnera posted a video of a frame-grab showing Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Russian Wagner mercenary outfit.
Despite suspicions that the deadly accident was a Kremlin assassination, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his condolences to the family of the Wagner head this afternoon.
