Libya climb 12 places in latest FIFA ranking, Nigeria remain 34

Libya made huge progress, moving 12 places up to reach 110 in FIFA’s latest ranking, while Nigeria remain 34 on the table.

In a statement on Thursday, FIFA said its latest ranking was determined by the performances of countries in the 177 internationals played in September.

“With no fewer than 152 FIFA World Cup™, qualifying games, as well as 25 friendlies, played across the globe in the first half of September, the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released on 16 September,” said the statement.

Belgium and Brazil remain first and second on the log, while England displaced France from the third position.

France dropped to fourth, Italy ranked fifth, while Argentina is ranked sixth on the table.

In Africa, Senegal ranked 20, and Algeria 30.

Nigeria remains stagnant at 34 in the latest ranking.
