Actress Funke Akindele stated some of the reasons why she would emerge as the deputy governor of Lagos State in the 2023 general election, saying that she has 20 million fans on social media.
The 44-year-old in an Instagram post on July 12 announced she has been chosen as the running mate of Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State.
Funke Akindele said she was chosen to help liberate and improve the welfare of the people which cannot be ignored.
She also promised to work tirelessly and compliment Jandor’s burning desire to see Lagos State live up to its full potential.
Explaining why she will win the election in an interview with Channels TV, the actress stated that she and Jandor have the numbers required to win, adding that she has 20 million followers on social media.
