Following the appearance of a social media video showing a store owner putting his hands around a woman’s throat, an irate mob shut down a main route in south east London today.

Dramatic video that has been going viral on social media shows an altercation between a lady and a guy, who is thought to be Sohail Sindho, the 45-year-old owner of Peckham Hair and Cosmetics, who then appears to wrap his hands around the woman’s throat after she reportedly tried to steal from his shop. 

After Mr. Sindho denied a woman a refund for several hair products, he claimed that an altercation ensued and that she tried to remove items from the shelves and leave.

According to the Met Police, a lady was detained on suspicion of assault and later released on bail while investigators continued. The shop employee has not been arrested, according to the police.

Antoine Allen, a TV host and reporter, heard Mr. Sindho say: “It’s not choking… I had her in custody. 

Anti-racism activists protested against what they called a “example of everyday male violence against women” yesterday as an irate crowd stopped a busy route in south east London. 

Additionally, protesters posted signs throughout the business denouncing the shopkeeper’s actions.

According to the Met Police, a lady was detained on suspicion of assault and later released on bail while investigators continued. The police stated that the shop employee has not been detained.

Then, after accusing him of strangling her, she cries “call the police,” but he won’t release his hold. 

Owner of the store Mr. Sindho claimed that a woman tried to remove items from the shelves and leave when he denied her a refund for some hair products. 

A planned protest outside the store today at 2pm was triggered by mounting resentment over the video on social media and demands for locals to boycott the store. 

The store had already closed when the incident occurred, and a crowd had collected nearby to peacefully protest what they saw as a “example of everyday male violence against women.” 

A small group of people with banners first assembled outside the store; as others joined up, the gathering expanded. 

Assuring the community’s safety during the rally was a local man wearing a stab vest and claiming to be providing security for the occasion. 

Nearly two hours after the rally started, protesters are still there, occupying the pavement and traffic in Rye Lane.
